Skipper Mike Bess
Mike Bess is Whitby born and bred and has been sea fishing for over 30 years now. Originally Mike was a commercial trawler skipper, however in more recent times Mike has turned his hand to his long term love of boat angling. Mike has served a short but thorough apprenticeship of charter angling under Trot On skipper Paul Eddon and has now taken up his new role of full time skipper aboard Lone Shark. Anglers after a top days sport from the countries premier port of Whitby should look no further than Mike Bess aboard The Whitby Lone Shark.
The Boat
The lone shark offers the best possible reef and wreck fishing. Our boat is one of the fastest at Whitby, touching 18 knots at full speed, pretty fast for a 40ft boat. The high speed allows more time for fishing and less time steaming. We offer competitive rates for private parties and also single anglers. Rod and tackle hire is also possible. So if you don’t have any fishing equipment it’s not a problem. Just ring to book your seat on the boat and turn up. The lads on the Lone Shark will sort you out with everything you need for a good fun day out
